Farewell K9 Blak

In January 2006, we were all saddened by the news that K9 Blak was put to sleep.  K9 Blak was 10 years old and retired in January 2005. He suffered from a spinal disease which proved to be too painful. K9 Blak worked with Sgt. Mowder until he retired and Sgt. Mowder was transferred to the Patrol Division.

K9 Blak started his Service with the NCPD K9 Team in 1998 and he retired January 2005.  Blak had an active career assisting Sgt. Mowder and keeping the citizens of N. Charleston safe.  Blak served as a narcotics detector dog and performed tracking and apprehension duties as well.

We have lost much more than a police dog; we've lost a fellow officer who wore his badge proudly. Everyone on the NCPD K9 Team, N. Charleston Police Department and the City of N. Charleston will miss him dearly.

Farewell Old Friend, we're going to miss you
